🌎 Movement in South America

Samson Mow and the JAN3 team met with ⁦the president of Colombia to discuss Bitcoin’s potential implementation in social projects in the country. Along with a visit to Suriname which got a segment on national TV.

OCEAN launched this week, an initiative backed by Jack Dorsey, and is on a mission to radically decentralise Bitcoin mining globally with a transparent, non-custodial mining pool.

The BBC among other mainstream media outlets published articles stating every Bitcoin payment 'uses a swimming pool of water'.

Daniel Batten has published a rebuttal which uses sources from the likes of Cambridge University and Bloomberg Intelligence to debunk the misinformation in the BBC News article.

The reason we include this is because it’s a prime example of media misinformation around Bitcoin.
