🤝 Bitcoin Tops the Charts (Again)
Bitcoin finished 2024 with a 121% return, outperforming every major asset class.
Despite the volatility, it continues to lead the pack when it comes to long-term performance.
Its cumulative return since 2011? Over 31 million percent and an annualised return of 147%.
No other asset even comes close.
🙋♀️ Women in Bitcoin
A week ago, CoinTelegraph published a “women who kicked ass in crypto” piece in which only one non-American or non-European woman was mentioned.
Women based in Europe and the U.S. are doing excellent work in the Bitcoin space, as CoinTelegraph pointed out, but so are women from Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia and The Middle East.
Frank Corva highlights those missing from the list.
🇺🇸 The U.S. Won’t Buy Bitcoin
Galaxy Digital predicts that 5 countries will announce they have adopted Bitcoin as a reserve asset in 2025.
But they also predict the U.S. government will not purchase Bitcoin in 2025, but it will create a stockpile using coins it already holds, and there will be some movement within the departments and agencies to examine an expanded Bitcoin reserve policy.
📖 ’Satoshi' Added to the Oxford English Dictionary
The Oxford English Dictionary has officially added the word "satoshi." Defined as the smallest unit of Bitcoin (1/100,000,000 of a BTC) this update highlights just how far Bitcoin has come since its early days.
Another step toward mainstream recognition.
⚡️ Monetising The UK’s Stranded Energy
Our first in-person episode is here, and it’s a big one.
Jordan sat down with Nick Bowick, systems engineer and Bitcoin Policy UK’s head of mining and energy, to talk about the UK’s transition to sustainable energy and how Bitcoin mining could play a role.
If you’re curious about energy, Bitcoin mining, or just enjoy a Scottish accent, this one is for you 🏴🍿
