Following the collapse of FTX, we kicked the year off with scandals and super cheap Bitcoin. The price of 1 Bitcoin was worth $16,600 as Sam Bankman Fried was putting the handcuffs on.

The Lebanese Pound (Lira) saw a depreciation of more than 98% of its value since the country's financial sector imploded in 2019. Protesters took to the banks in Beirut as they hit a breaking point and set them on fire.

TeraWulf announced their newest bitcoin mine is being powered by the 2.5 GW Susquehanna nuclear plant. The company said its operations are powered by 91% nuclear, hydro, and solar energy with a goal of utilizing 100% zero-carbon energy. Woohoo… green Bitcoin!

The World Economic Forum said Bitcoin mining can reduce a "massive amount of emissions" and benefit the environment. Of course, they didn’t say it as straight up as this but rather showcased a Bitcoin mining company and referred to them as data centres.

This guy was the talk of the town. The US Presidential Candidate Robert Kennedy Jr advocated heavily for Bitcoin in Miami: “the currency of peace, trust, and freedom. Fiat currency is the opposite.”

We hosted ‘A Night in London’ with Obi Nwosu, Rachel Geyer and Chris Moss. An event to help make Bitcoin more relatable by combining fantastic talks with games such as bowling, darts, and shuffleboard. It was an awesome event if I say so myself. I just need to tell my face that!

Bitcoin spiked 10% on CoinTelegraph’s tweet that Blackrock’s Spot Bitcoin ETF had been approved by the SEC. The news spread like wildfire and caused Bitcoin to rocket but it turned out to be false news.
