Fidelity has released an updated version of their study "Bitcoin First" from Jan 2022. This is your one-stop shop for learning why Bitcoin is different to any other cryptocurrency.

TLDR

“As a monetary good, bitcoin is unique. Therefore, not only do we believe that investors should consider bitcoin first to understand digital assets, but that bitcoin should be considered first and separate from all other digital assets that have followed it.”

💥 Lightning Is Exploding… To The Up Side

River released a Lightning Network research report this week. Analysing and estimating the growth of the network.

TL;DR

• 6.6 million routed Lightning transactions - up 1,212% from 503,000 in 2021

• $78.2 million was publicly routed - up 546% from $12.1m in 2021

🔥 What else have you missed?

1. JP Morgan seems a little confused. Last week “JPMorgan Chase UK imposes a ban on Bitcoin.” This week they have initiated coverage on 4 Bitcoin mining companies.

2. THNDR announces Clinch, an API for non-custodial, depositless, peer-2-peer wagering. Taking their first steps into the gambling market.

3. The World's Largest Podcaster, Joe Rogan says Bitcoin shows the most promise to emerge as “a universal viable currency.” He’s by no means an expert but with 190 million listeners per month, this is another Bitcoin touchpoint for them.

4. Stocks No; Bitcoin Yes. Paul Tudor Jones says he is bearish on US stocks and bullish on Bitcoin and gold.
