🧠 Quote Of The Week
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”
— Confucius

🗞️ The Fringe Phase Is Over
A Bitcoin education nonprofit has brought Bitcoin onto the front page of the Wall Street Journal, launching a 12-week campaign to help people understand Bitcoin.
The Nakamoto Project's push includes a dedicated site at gettingbitcoin.org, six essays from leading Bitcoin thinkers running as WSJ sponsored content, six full-page adverts and 24 quarter-page ones. The first essay, from macro analyst Lyn Alden, ran under the headline "The fringe phase is officially over."
The campaign leans on a striking stat: one in six Americans now own Bitcoin, holding over $1.25 trillion in wealth between them.

✅ Quantum-Proof… Hold the Fork
The first quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction has been broadcast using a method that needed no soft fork, no hard fork, and no protocol change at all.
The fix works by trying out millions of slightly different signatures until it finds one that doesn't leak the information a quantum computer could exploit. Finding one takes hours on purpose. That built-in slowness is what makes it quantum-safe.
Ordinary Bitcoin software doesn't recognise the format yet, so the transaction couldn't go through the usual route. It had to be handed straight to a mining company, MARA, who added it to a block by hand.

⚡ Lightning Struck Twice
Developers of Core Lightning have issued an emergency warning to node operators after a flood of AI-generated bug reports uncovered genuine vulnerabilities.
Operators who can't patch immediately were told to restart nodes in "offline" mode, not switch them off, since a powered-down node can't defend the Bitcoin in its channels. Fixes land within two weeks.
It's the second Lightning scare this month, after a BTCPay Server flaw drained merchant nodes in early August.
AI is causing Bitcoin's security real short-term pain. But long-term, finding these bugs now is exactly what makes it stronger.

💰 HMRC Reveals 240 Crypto Millionaires
HMRC has published its first official data on cryptoasset capital gains, showing 240 people in the UK declared more than £1 million each from crypto in the 2024-25 tax year.
Between them, that group reported £717 million, over half the £1.38 billion total declared by all 17,600 crypto filers that year.
It's the first time HMRC has broken out this data, ahead of new rules handing exchange records to the taxman from 2027.

☣️ Contaminated by Association
Kraken says a sanctioned wallet linked to exchange HTX has been sending tiny "dust" transfers to its users, in an apparent attempt to trigger compliance freezes across the industry.
Around 12,000 of these transfers hit Kraken-linked addresses this month. The aim, Kraken says, is to land sanctioned funds in ordinary customer accounts and force a lockout, disrupting operations for anyone caught in the sweep.
Kraken says its compliance team restored access quickly while continuing to hold the sanctioned funds as required, and it's working with authorities to blunt further attempts. HTX has not commented.
When someone else holds the keys, they hold the power to freeze you out. Hold your own, and that power doesn't exist.

🎟️ You’re Invited... While Spaces Last
The rooms are booked, the dates are set, and spaces are filling up fast.
The Bitcoin Business Network is launching in Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle, and these events are open to everyone. Food and drinks are on us, so come along and get a taste of what BBN is all about.
Our members are the reason these rooms work. Someone walks in expecting crypto bros and finds business owners and professionals instead.
